Dr. Scott Yates has been providing excellent medical care for my wife Cindy and me since about 2002.  We first became aware of Dr. Yates through Cindy's real estate business.  I had changed doctors several times as my doctors kept retiring on me.  So I decided to take a different approach and find a younger doctor that was likely to outlive me.  Placing our medical care in Dr. Yates hands is a decision we have never regretted.

What does excellent medical care by Dr. Yates look like?  Let us count the ways:

1.  Instant Communication and Availability - He responds quickly to cell phone calls, text messages, and emails.  He even responds quickly when he is out of town on business or vacation.  How many doctors do that?

2.  Current on the Latest Medical Research - His consultations always include any new research findings that may apply to our situations.  An example is the advantages and disadvantages of the PSA test for prostate cancer.  He doesn't tell me what to do, he provides me with all the information I need to make decisions.  I’m in charge, its great.

3.  Fast Prescriptions and Refills - Prescriptions and refills are always called in quickly.

4.  Referrals - When other medical expertise is needed, Dr. Yates knows exactly whom to call.  He has referred us to urologists, kidney specialists, joint replacement specialists, and gastroenterologists.  Not only does he refer us to other specialists when necessary, but his staff makes the appointment for us.  They also make appointments for tests outside of his office such as MRIs or CT scans.

5.  House Calls - When was the last time that a doctor visited you at home?  Dr. Yates visited me at home several years ago when I had an adverse reaction to multiple medications I was taking to get rid of a cold.

6.  Sometimes Less is Better - I had been seeing Dr. Yates semiannually.  However, my medical data were good enough that he recommended that I reduce that frequency to annually.  He’s always available if I need something but doesn't waste my time.

7.  Reminders - Dr. Yates' staff is very good about sending reminders that it is time to make an appointment and also that existing appointments are coming up.

8.  Personal Care - Dr. Yates genuinely cares for us personally and for our good health.  It's easy to detect when a doctor is just going through the motions, doing a job, checking the box.  Dr. Yates shows that he cares about our health in many ways.

We look forward to many more years of excellent medical care by Dr. Yates and his team!
